With our app, anyone can collect donations on behalf of charities directly through their phone. We're turning small taps into big change.

How the Sam App works

Our app removes the requirement for charities to purchase third party physical point of sale machines.

Users can download the Sam App on their personal phones, and use them as card readers for contactless payments. This means users can collect anywhere, anytime.

We have partnered with trusted payment provider Stripe to process payments, ensuring safety and security on each transaction.

Money collected is routed directly to the organisation's nominated bank account, with processing fees deducted automatically. Users of the app won't have any access to the organisation's banking details or accounts.

To begin collecting donations, here's all that's involved:

  • Download the App from the app store.
  • Register. All we will require is a username, email and a phone number.
  • Join an organisation via invite. This link will be sent out via the organisation's dashboard on our web app. You can find out more about this functionality here
  • Begin Collecting We break this down in the section below, as well as in our user guides.

Collecting with the Sam App

We’re trying to make it as easy as possible to collect donations in multiple fundraising scenarios, and have designed with this in mind. Read below to see what we are offering in terms of collection methods through the app.

Quick donations
Charities can set up quick donation amounts. These will be amounts first presented to collectors in the app, so that they can quickly access and begin collecting.
Price Items
Charities have the ability to create custom price line items, similar to a point of sale machine. This can be used for more specific donations, or for the sale of a quantity of items.
Raffles
Collectors can accept payment for raffle entries, and enter in the donors information to be drawn later.
Custom Donation amount
When a donor wishes to make a custom donation, or add in an additional donation, collectors can enter in the amount manually.

Primarily used by your volunteers/employees - our Sam App focuses on making the action of collecting donations convenient and as easy as possible. On top of our key features above, with our mobile app you will be able to:

Accept an invitation to an organisation.
Users may accept multiple invitations to multiple organisations and collect on behalf of them.
View joined organisations.
A user will be able to see and access all organisations they are a member of.
Accept donations directly to an organisation.
Donations can be accepted for an organisation directly in any of our three collection methods.
View events held by joined organisations.
Within our app there is an events section, that can have customised collections created by the organisation. More information about this can be found here.
Accept donations for an event.
Donations can be accepted for an event in any of our three collection methods.
Collect with contactless payments.
A user can collect donations for organisations with any contactless payment method. I.e. smart device or card.
View history.
Users will have access to a transaction history and are able to provide refunds for donations if required.
Send receipt via text.
After collecting a donation, a user can send a receipt to the donor via mobile number upon request.
Create and manage profile.
Users will be able to create and manage a profile that can be used on multiple apps and on our web app.
